Leaving a gift in your will 

Mission Aviation Fellowship is a Christian agency whose mission is to fly light aircraft in developing countries, showing God's love to isolated people in need.  MAF NZ is a registered charity funded significantly by donations and bequests.  After providing for your family, a bequest to Mission Aviation Fellowship New Zealand is a special way of giving isolated people access to the physical and spiritual help they need (continuing to help reach more people in remote communities) and can be a wonderful testimonial of your concern for others.

Bequests are held in an Endowment Fund, which continues to provide funds year after year for saving peoples lives and improving the well being of those living in isolated communities. Your gift continues to give, your kindness never ends.

Suggested wording for a gift in your will to Mission Aviation Fellowship New Zealand

It is important that the bequest is worded correctly and the following is recommended as a guide. You may wish to give this wording to the solicitor who is preparing your will.

I give to Mission Aviation Fellowship New Zealand of 20 Amersham Way, Manukau City, the sum of $............. [or] ….* [the residue of my estate] free of all duties and taxes for its general purposes and I declare that the receipt of the Manager, Treasurer or other proper officer shall be sufficient discharge to my executor(s) and trustee(s).

You could include:

•   A percentage of your estate

•   The whole residue of your estate (usually only if you have no children or other dependants)

•   A specified sum of money

•   A specific item (such as property or shares)
