Rick & Lauryn Velvin Serving with MAF in PNG Rick & Lauryn first joined MAF in 1979 serving in PNG up until 1992, when they returned to New Zealand. Rick retrained as a Pastor, ministering in a church for 8½ years, followed by 6½ years as the MAF NZ Manager. Lauryn managed a Budgeting Service prior to completing a Theology Degree at Carey College and becoming an Associate Pastor at Hillsborough Baptist. Now, with their two eldest children married (Hannah & Anthony in West Auckland, Ben & Nicky in Cairns), one grandson, Isaac, and Julia engaged (wedding Sept 09), Rick & Lauryn are able to respond to God's prompting and the need for experienced staff, to be available for Field Service in PNG again. Matthew will attend the High School in Ukarumpa for his final two years of schooling. "It's like the original call hasn't gone, it's still there, and there is a contribution that we can make."
