Mission Aviation Fellowship is a faith-based, not-for-profit team of aviation professionals providing air transport in places of deepest human need - remote places where flying is not a luxury, but a lifeline.

MAF International flies over jungles, mountains, swamps and deserts to bring thousands of men, women and children medical care, emergency relief, long-term development and Christian hope.

Over 1,000 staff including 18 New Zealanders and their families, perform specialized tasks which aid the ministries of local churches and relief and development agencies through aviation, radio and internet-based communications.

MAF pilots and mechanics operate and maintain a fleet of over 140 aircraft - flying in and out of 2,000 airstrips around the world, for nearly 900 different organisations.

Every three minutes, an MAF plane is taking off or landing somewhere in the world, giving hope to far-flung communities which might take days or weeks to reach by land, where roads may be non-existent, or impassable for half the year.

In New Zealand, MAF is a registered charity funded by voluntary gifts.
